 Mechanic’s and materialmen’s liens secure payment for labor or materials provided on real property. Texas law strictly governs lien filing and enforcement.


  • Eligible filers: Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers (Texas Property Code Chapter 53). 
  • Timing: Lien must be timely filed based on specific timelines to be enforceable.
